Background
Having lived in France from 1999-2002, studying French studies, and in Spanish Catalonia since 2002, I have acquired the necessary knowledge of the French, Spanish and Catalan languages and cultures to fully cope with the texts I translate. Having spent six years studying languages and translation at university level, I have acquired the necessary translation skills to translate a variety of different formats and ensure that you get a final translation in correct, clear English.
A specialist in education and sport
From November 2004 to May 2006, I worked as the official translator of the institutional website of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This enabled me to further improve my translation skills while acquiring knowledge of the Spanish university system that few English translators can match. Having translated hundreds of thousands of words into English for the UAB, I am now the translator of choice for academic texts for a range of clients in academia, including various lecturers and departments not just at the UAB.
I am also a specialist in sport - thanks to years of watching sport I am familiar with all the terminology and clichés - and have been entrusted to tackle an athletics website, news items on yachting, information on the Special Olympics, articles for a Formula One team, etc.
Of course, these are not the only fields I have translated. I am particularly interested in texts on christianity, music and tourism. I also have experience with business and finance texts. And how can I forget my first book - The Lost Children of Francoism - a 90,000-word study into how the children of prisoners were dealt with during the Spanish Civil War.
